Shopify Inventory Locations
Jasper PIM allows you to import multiple inventory locations from your Shopify store into the PIM and use the locations to manage product availability for your different inventory locations. This article will guide you through the process on how to enable and configure the Inventory Locations feature inside the PIM.
Step 1: Enable the Use Inventory Locations
PIM Administrators or anyone with the proper permissions can configure the inventory locations.
- Navigate the left side menu by going to Configuration > Channels and select your Shopify channel
- Click the SH Options Tab on the top of the channel configuration screen
- Drill down to the Use Inventory Locations drop-down and select “Enabled - Allow Shopify locations configuration for inventory sync” and click Save
Step 2: Import Inventory Locations From Shopify
When you update your inventory locations in your Shopify store settings, you need to import the new locations into the PIM to be able to manage and update the product inventory info for the new locations inside the PIM. Follow the steps below:
Note: Every time there is an update to the Inventory Locations in Shopify you need to import the new locations to the PIM.
PIM Administrators or anyone with the proper permissions can configure the inventory locations.
- Navigate the left side menu by going to Configuration > Channels and select your Shopify channel
- Click the Import Tab on the top of the channel configuration screen
- Click on the Import Inventory Locations button
- Allow the PIM to import all the inventory locations from your Shopify store
- Once the import is complete, navigate to the SH Options Tab and you can see all your inventory locations in the “Inventory Location List” field
Note: The Import Inventory Locations button is only visible if you have already Enabled the “Use Inventory Locations” field on the SH Options tab.
- Refresh the page to import all the available inventory locations from your Shopify store into the PIM
- Navigate to the Inventory Location List field on the SH Options screen to see all your inventory locations imported from Shopify. This is a drop-down and all the imported inventory locations from Shopify will be automatically selected in the Inventory Location List drop-down unless you manually deselect them.
Note: When the user selects the inventory locations from the Inventory Location List drop down and save the channel, Jasper will automatically enable the selected inventory locations for all the enabled products for that channel. We only enable inventory locations on products and there will be no impact on inventory tracking (quantity).
